New Books On My Shelf

I have so many books on my TBR shelf that I really don't need to buy any more books, but I love buying books.

I been buying less young adult novels recently as I find that most of them are quote similar. I did however pick up 'The Art of Being Normal' by Lisa Williamson as it breaches new field in this genre by centering around a transgender main character.

I also picked up 'The Girl in the Red Coat' by Kate Hamer about a missing girl who apparently doesn't know that she is lost, which sounds intriguing...

'Ruby' by Cynthia Bond has some hype around it and recently was long listed for the baileys women's prize for fiction. However I have heard there are some graphic scenes in this novel so be warned before you pick it up.

'Ice' by Ulla-Lena Lundberg is a Nordic bestseller as has recently been translated into english. Hopefully this thriller is gripping amd as interesting as those I've previously read.

Finally I picked up 'The Strange Weather in Tokyo' as I am interested in reading some of Hiromi Kawakami's (the author) work as was recommended to start on this small book. I also got 'A Tale for the Time Being' by Ruth Ozeki as I am interested in explored this culture as it is vastly different from my own.

If you have picked up any of these books. I think after these recent book hauls I am going to try to buy less books so I can catch up on myself and reduce my to be read pile overall.

That being said if you have any book recommendations I would be happy to hear about them and hopefully will pick up these books soon!

Happy Reading!
