My first book haul on this blog is a bit craft. 11 books to add to my to read pile, looking forward to reading all these books.
The Chimes - Anna Smaill / J - Howard Jacobson / The Secret History - Donna Tartt
I meant to just buy one book but obviously it didn't work out that way. I picked up 'The Chimes' by Anna Smaill as it was Long listed for the Man Booker Prize and while I was there I spotted two other books. 'J' by Howard Jacobson and 'The Secret History' by Donna Tartt, I have previously read 'The Goldfinch' which was great.
Attachments - Rainbow Rowell
I love Rainbow Rowell! To be fair I've only read 'Eleanor and Park' but I read it one sitting and I am beyond exciting to pick up another book. I really connected to the characters, there was an interesting plot line as well as being a fairly easy read.
It is important to learn beyond topics which are easy to read about. Therefore these books which show women's perspective on life. Success in business is explored as well as the challenges which women still face. Only ever yours was particularly interesting as it was a fiction about girls aspiring to compete against each other for the attention of men and how this can be self destructive.
Poison Study - Maria V. Synder / Unwind - Neal Shusterman
I wanted to add a few series to my shelves, but got these copies second hand, but nonetheless quality copies. 'Poison Study' by Maria V. Synder and 'Unwind' by Neal Shusterman, hopefully I enjoy these books and will read the rest of the series but only time will tell.
Grief is a thing with feathers - Max Porter / Spill simmer falter wither - Sara Baume
Two relatively short but highly rated books which I received as gifts and I can't wait to read!
Hopefully I'll get around to reading these all soon. I'm really excited to read these books, but have quite a few on my TBR shelf at the moment.
