Books that I take to university

I am currently between home and university, but spend more time proportionally at home. Therefore, the books that I take to university are either the ones that I have brought recently or just love and re-read a lot.

This year, I have taken a few Sarah Dessen books with me. When I haven't had the best day Dessen has a way of writing that totally makes my day better! I really love all her stories and although many of them are similar or overlap they are easy reads and are great to read in between studying. This year I have 'Saint Anything' as I hadn't read it, 'This Lullaby' and 'Just Listen' with me because I love to reread and flick through these stories as they are my favourites.

One of the most underrated books in Young Adult is 'New World:Rising' by Jennifer Wilson. Therefore, it also made the trip with me to university so I could lend it to my book friends. I feel it is underrated because it is independently published and the only way I found out about it was luck. Benjaminoftomes did a video on new releases, which this book was part of, but otherwise it would have passed me by. It an easy dystopian read and although it is young adult it has some gorgeous drawings in the front with the different tribes which form part of the novel. I really enjoy when books have maps and drawings in the front, I think it really adds something to the novel. It is fast paced and quite a short book so is a very promising beginning to this series (I think it will be a trilogy). I cannot wait for the sequel to be out soon (New World: Ashes).

'We were liars' by e.lockhart is one of my favourite books! It’s a relatively short read, as with New World: Rising but is more intense read. This my favourite e.lockhart book to date and is unpredictable and very emotional. I would recommend this to everyone to read. I also like to get more people to read 'The Circle' by Mats Strandberg. This fantasy/ thriller fits into the young adult genre but is not afraid to talk about more controversial topics. The translation is flawless and although initially it is easy to be put off by the length of this book it is well worth while. It is slow at the beginning but it soon picks up once all the characters are introduced. I went on to read the other two, 'Fire' and 'The Key' as they came out so have finished these series and have to say it's one of my favourite series. There was a reason for each book and didn't drag which often they do.
